It is said that beggars cannot be choosers. Our trailer that is offered to us because we are working here has been without power since we landed. Not a huge deal because we are outfitted with lanterns, flashlights and tap lights. Most of the time spent in the trailer is to change clothes and sleep so not having electricity
wasn't a huge deficit. Marilyn just informed me as I am plugged into the general store's power that we now have power!! Now I don't have to sit outside and curl my hair! Most of this time I wore my hat but today I thought I would give the 'hot blonde' some attitude and actually fix my hair.
A huge deficit to the ranch is the Branding Iron chose not to be open for breakfast, what? Their loss. The local nemo Fire Department is cooking breakfast and a good one at that just across the street from the ranch, so folks get a morning walk in and get a delicious breakfast for just 7.50. All you can eat!
We discovered this lone tree on our way over for breakfast at The Sugar Shack. Very odd.
What is even odder is that upon closer inspection it is a pole with ladder steps and fake Christmas tree branches. A cell tower perhaps, and if that is the case kudos to the engineers for blending with surrounding fauna. I wonder if they decorate it at Christmas?
I was moved up front yesterday and next to me Jimmy from Vegas was moved up towards the activity as well. Jimmy has built a very cool machine that takes a digital picture and carves it onto wood. He can do pieces as big as 4' x8'. Amazing process. Next year he plans on adding a laser cutter that will transpose photos onto leather, or denim. I can see that being a huge hit.
Perfecting the program. |
Jimmy from Vegas Jimmy's son arrived last night from Vegas to help him out during the rally. I hope to soon show you what he does with wood. It is very cool. |
