How many tents can you squeeze in 20 acres?

Wednesday with some good rest under my belt I was ready to do some kind of work. Daniel, the man in charge of getting things ready and running smooth had plenty for us to help with. The only exposure I have to the crowds that will be descending is watching the History Channel, Full Throttle Saloon and various other Sturgis specials. I have been watching these types of shows since I was invited back in December. Shortly it will feel like the entire world has arrived. Where do they all sleep? Here at Nemo Guest Ranch they sleep in tents, RV's and cabins. Daniel had us measuring and marking off the tent spaces. Using a specially devised rope system and orange paint we spent the better part of four hours marking off tent sites. The last one marked was numbered 111.
In my humble opinion you really have to love riding to endure a week of tent camping. But year after year the same folks come back to Nemo to camp under the stars next to Estes Creek all within the confines of Nemo Guest Ranch.
Packing for this trip was tough. There was so much I wanted to bring but didn't. Thank goodness for the RV  folks that are here working the event. We have been set up with a gas grill and a spatula. Daniel's RV has laundry facilities which we are welcome to.
Having 'worked' on a few of the key people with great success I have now been promoted to the front of the party with my canopy tent, thank you sis. Believe you me there will be footage and pictures coming your way to show off the masses of riders. As a great surprise to me this morning, one of the owners brought a resident over to meet me and as it turns out I have appointments with her and her husband for full sessions of Reflexology. Everyone seems to think I will be super busy rubbing hands. I hope so, as I gave up my clients and other work to come out here and so far haven't made much money.
I felt for the folks today. We have had nothing but thunderstorms off and on all day and they are expected to last until Monday, the official start to the Sturgis Rally. The only thing it hinders for us here on the ranch is getting the grounds ready. We are working with some well seasoned people, so the rain hasn't stopped them much.
Behind our trailer is a full working theater. Hiding under the tarp and picnic table are two laptops, a projection monitor and tucked between two pines is a full projection screen. Tonight is movie night, if the rain holds off.  Not my choice but we will be watching Time Bandits.
Until tomorrow!!
